Comics are a big part of not just the past, but the present day. Comics and comic books were created many years ago, officially starting out in 1933. Granted, today’s comics are far different than the comics of the 1930’s, but there are still plenty of good ones. Many of today’s comic book themes come directly from those original concepts, and some are new creations all together.
Some of the older comics that were considered the best were titles such as Star Wars and Fantastic Four. These two comics were started fairly early on in the action arena of the comic genre, and continues to be popular even through today. A very popular title that has carried through for many years is Batman. The Batman comics were a hit over 75 years ago, and are still a popular comic here in 2016. With newer and updated graphics added to this comic and a long string of ongoing crime fighting, Batman is one of the top line comics to date.
Another super popular title in comics is the one and only Superman. Similar to the Batman comics, the Superman story has continued for upward of 50 years and is still going strong as one of the most popular comics being bought today. New movies of these two titles also helped to boost the popularity and continued sales of these two comics. Yet another popular title that was held high in the past and sits at the top today are X-Men. This is a title that has been circulated for years and is still one of the most popular among all comic lovers.
When looking at some older but very popular titles we have Betty and Veronica, a super popular duo that had top sales for quite a few years. Green Lantern, also a hit with the action seekers had great sales in the earlier days of comics. Harley Quinn, a spin off from Batman was a great seller for years in the early 90’s. This comic in particular tended to produce a lot of sales to the female comic fans, making it quite popular. The tomb of Dracula was a title that caught a lot of attention back in the day and became quite popular as well. Titles like Shazam, Flash, Swamp Thing and Ghost Rider were all quite popular among the action seekers when it came to comics.
